Who is the Ideal Candidate for Teeth Whitening in Chelmsford?
Not many people are lucky enough to have naturally white teeth, and even then they can become discoloured over time. There are two ways in which the teeth can become discoloured.
The first is intrinsic – when the inner part of the tooth begins to darken or turn yellow. Because it’s coming from the inside, such discolouration can’t be removed with traditional tooth whitening pastes or whitening strips.
The second is extrinsic – when the outer layer of the teeth, otherwise known as the enamel, picks up stains from food and drink. It can also become stained as a result of smoking. Teeth cleaning may help to reduce the appearance of these stains.
Both can be treated with teeth whitening methods.

How Does it Work?
The teeth whitening treatment can be completed in 3 steps:
Step 1: The dentist will take an impression of your teeth in order to make your custom moulds.
Step 2: If you’re using the home whitening kit, you’ll need to fill the moulds with the whitening gel and wear them overnight for 2 weeks. Some patients may need to carry on the treatment for another 2 weeks depending on how discoloured their teeth are.
Step 3: Once you’ve completed the 2 weeks at home, you’ll revisit your dentist for another whitening session. This should last about 1 hour.
Your beautifully bright smile can be topped up at home if needed. Simply wear the moulds once a month, every other month. You’ll also be given a special toothpaste that will help to keep your teeth wonderfully white while also helping with any sensitivity.

Teeth Whitening FAQs
How long does professional teeth whitening last?
Results can be long-lasting if you look after your teeth and continue to use the treatment once every other month. Avoiding smoking, coffee, tea and foods that are known to cause teeth stains will help to keep your smile whiter for longer.
Is deep bleaching safe?
Yes, it is completely safe. The same materials used in deep bleaching have been used in dentistry for over a decade. Your Tooth Serum toothpaste will relieve any sensitivity problems you may have to begin with.
Does teeth whitening hurt?
Not at all. Teeth whitening is a completely pain-free process, so you can relax and enjoy the results. Some patients with sensitive teeth may experience further sensitivity after the treatment, but this is perfectly normal and your dental professional will advise you on how to relieve the sensation quickly and easily. If you’re still worried, speak to us about our teeth whitening in Chelmsford. We’d be happy to put your mind at ease.
Does teeth whitening gel expire?
Yes, but if you’re using the home whitening kit as recommended by our dental professionals, the whitening gel won't expire before the end of your treatment. You should use it within the dates advised and follow the instructions carefully.
