Dental Veneers are among the most popular cosmetic dental treatments. If you’ve recently had veneers fitted, you probably want to keep your gorgeous, gleaming smile in pristine condition for as long as possible. Here are 3 helpful tips to protect your veneers:
- Avoid hard foods: dental veneers are not immune to damage and if you bite down on something hard like a boiled sweet or a popcorn kernel, you may find that you damage your veneers just like you would your natural tooth.
- See your dentist every 6 months: when you’ve got an amazing new smile, it’s understandable to want to keep it in check for as long as possible and seeing your dentist on a regular basis can help to preserve your beautiful smile and keep your natural teeth and gums health. Ideally, we recommend routine check-ups every 6-9 month, but if you have any problems between appointments, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
- Use a straw: many foods and drinks contain staining agents, which can discolour the teeth and may stain your veneers if you don’t have stain-resistant veneers. We recommend using a straw to drink to prevent direct contact with the veneers.
