The stages of Invisalign treatment

Invisalign treatment offers a modern alternative to traditional fixed braces. Rather than wearing a fixed brace made from brackets and wires, Invisalign involves wearing a series of clear plastic aligners, which are removable and invisible to others.

Before you begin treatment, you will have a consultation with one of your dentists, who will assess your orthodontic needs, analyse your bite and have a good chat with you about the treatment, what it involves, how it works and what kinds of benefits it offers.

Invisalign treatment is planned in advanced using the latest software. Using the information provided by your dentist, the programme will plot the movement of the teeth and design the templates for your bespoke aligners. Each patient receives a set of aligners, all of which are different.

When your aligners are ready, you can start your treatment and your dentist will explain how to use the aligners, when to swap them over and how to look after them. You should wear your aligners for two weeks at a time in the specified order.

During your treatment, your dentist will schedule regular follow-up sessions to see how you are getting on. If you have any questions or concerns at all between appointments, just call the clinic and we will be happy to help.

Once your dentist is happy with the results of your treatment and satisfied with the new position of your teeth, you can remove your aligner for the last time and start enjoying your amazing new smile! After treatment, you will be advised to wear a retainer to help prevent the teeth from slipping out of position. Some patients choose to have whitening treatment and we will be happy to discuss options with you.
