What is CEREC and how could it benefit me?

CEREC is a form of innovative technology that affords us the power to design, create and fit brand new, custom-designed restorations in a single day. Traditionally, when you need a dental crown, for example, you have a putty mould made by your dentist and this is sent away to a laboratory, where a dental technician creates your bespoke crown. With CEREC, we are able to complete the entire process on-site, with no need for putty moulds or temporary restorations.

With CEREC technology, we take images of the teeth, which are converted into 3D images by advanced software. The design for the new restoration is then sent to the on-site milling machine and the new restoration is fabricated in a matter of minutes. Once it is ready, our dental team can then fit it, so you can start enjoying the benefits of your treatment straight away.

CEREC has multiple benefits for both patients and dentists. Firstly, the treatment time is vastly reduced and patients only have to attend one treatment session, which makes life easier when it comes to booking time off or sorting out childcare arrangements. Secondly, the process is cleaner and more accurate. For many, having a putty mould made can be uncomfortable and unpleasant and with CEREC, this is not required.
