If you have veneers, it’s important to take good care of them to maintain your gorgeous new smile. Here are 3 top tips to help you protect your veneers:
- Use a straw: it is possible for some veneers to become discoloured in a similar way to the natural teeth. If you drink a lot of cola, wine, tea or coffee, you may find that your veneers become stained. If you are partial to these drinks and you don’t have stain-resistant veneers, it’s a good idea to use a straw when you drink.
- Avoid hard foods: veneers are strong and durable, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t break. Try and avoid very hard foods, such as boiled sweets, which may chip and break your veneers.
- Make an effort with dental hygiene: even if you have veneers, it’s really important to take good care of your natural teeth and your gums. Brush twice a day for at least two minutes and don’t neglect dental visits. Your dentist will have a good look at your veneers every time you have a routine dental check-up.
When you have your dental veneers fitted, your dentist will give you some useful tips to help you protect and look after them. If you need any more advice or you have questions, just pick up the phone and we’ll be happy to help.
