If you have orthodontic issues, you may be assuming that a trip to the dentist would result in being told that you need to wear braces for years on end, but that’s simply not the case. In recent years, orthodontics has advanced at lightning speed and we can now offer incredibly quick treatment thanks to amazing systems such as 6 Month Smiles. 6 Month Smiles offers a fast, discreet and comfortable alternative to traditional fixed braces and you’ll be getting your braces taken off before you know it. These innovative fixed braces use the latest self-ligating technology to accelerate the movement of the teeth and shorten treatment time. The process is also shorter because this system focuses only on the teeth that are visible when you smile. In addition to short treatment times, 6 Month Smiles also offers discreet aesthetics, which means that you can feel more confident when you smile in public. The braces are made from clear brackets and tooth-coloured wires, so they are only really noticeable up-close. The friction-free technology used also helps to minimise discomfort and facilitate gentler treatment, so you don’t need to worry about coping with pain. 6 Month Smiles can be beneficial for many patients, but it may not be suitable for everyone, as it targets issues with the front teeth and only produces a limited amount of movement. If you are interested in treatment, we can go through the ins and outs of the system and carry out some tests to see if this treatment would be beneficial for you. If it’s not the best match for your orthodontic prescription, we can explore other ideas. If you thought treatment took years, think again; call now to achieve a perfect smile in months!

At Advance Dental we are always on the lookout for techniques and treatments, which can help to transform your smile quickly and conveniently. Thanks to Cerec, we are now able to offer patients single-day restorative treatment, so you don’t have to wait to enjoy the benefits.
Cerec stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics and it is an advanced and hugely impressive form of technology, which enables us to offer same-day restorative treatment.
Cerec covers all the stages of restorative treatment, enabling us to complete the entire process on-site. Usually, we would create an impression, which is sent away to a laboratory and then returned to use for fitting around 2 weeks later. Now, with Cerec, there’s no waiting around and we can design, fabricate and fit the new restoration in just one session.
How does Cerec work?
Cerec converts images from a camera into 3D models, which replace impressions; the models form the design of the bespoke restoration and they are sent to the milling machine. The milling machine is responsible for the manufacturing stage and it takes just a few minutes to convert the 3D models into a brand new, sparkling restoration. Once the restoration is ready, we then fit it and you can enjoy your new smile.
We are able to use Cerec to create custom-designed veneers, crowns, inlays and onlays.
The benefits of Cerec
The most obvious advantage of Cerec is its time-saving abilities; however, there are additional pros of this system. With Cerec, you don’t have to go through the messy and somewhat uncomfortable stage of having putty moulds created and you also don’t need to have temporary restorations. You can book a single session rather than having to take time off work on multiple days and you can also gain more insight into the treatment process, as you can see how the different stages work. Cerec is also more accurate than traditional techniques.
Dental implants have certainly got people talking, but what are they and could they be of benefit to you? Dental implants are a relatively new solution for patients with missing teeth; they are designed to replace lost teeth by taking on the role of the tooth root. Implants, which are made from titanium, are implanted into small openings in the jaw bone; these openings act as sockets and secure the implants in place. Once the implants are inside the sockets, they integrate into the jaw bone tissue, replacing the missing tooth root. Once the osseointegration stage is complete, the implant can then be attached to a new crown, denture or dental bridge. Implants are advantageous because they offer a solution for patients of all ages with varying dental needs; this treatment could be a great match for an 18 year old who has had a tooth knocked out playing rugby or an older person who has several missing teeth and is searching for a more stable and functional alternative to traditional dentures. As implants are compatible with bridges, dentures and crowns, this means that they can be used to replace single or multiple missing teeth. As well as offering versatility, implants also offer exceptionally high standards of functionality, amazingly natural looking aesthetics, durability and increased stability for the new restorations. Unlike other treatments, such as bridges and dentures, dental implants are designed to last a lifetime and once treatment is complete, you care for them in exactly the same way as natural teeth. Implants are suitable for most patients; occasionally, if there is insufficient bone mass in the jaw, grafting may be recommended to build up the density of the jaw bone. If you think dental implants could be the perfect solution for you, call now and book your consultation!
What would you say if we told you that we could promise you a beautiful straight smile in just 6 months? If you think this sounds too good to be true, we have great news! With 6 Month Smiles, a stunning smile could be yours in no time at all! 6 Month Smiles is a rapid fixed brace system, which caters for patients who have orthodontic issues that affect the front teeth. The braces are made from tooth-coloured wires and clear brackets and they use self-ligating memory wires to move the teeth quickly and reduce friction; this means rapid results and minimal discomfort. 6 Month Smiles is able to work faster than other fixed braces because it employs the latest technology and concentrates on the teeth than can be seen when you speak and smile, rather than treating the full arch. Although this treatment is not invisible, like some aligners treatments, the braces are incredibly discreet and treatment times are often much shorter. This treatment is not suitable for every orthodontic patient, but it does offer a really quick, comfortable and discreet alternative to traditional braces for those who need correction for issues that affect their front teeth and it can also be really beneficial for people who want a straight smile in time for a special occasion and have a limited time-frame available. If you think you may be a good candidate for 6 Month Smiles treatment and you’d like to find out more about this treatment or any of our other incredible orthodontic innovations, simply call and make an appointment. Preventing gum disease lies at the heart of our mission as dentists and we are eager to spread the word that gum disease is easily preventable. We want our clients to enjoy healthy teeth and gums and stay free from dental pain and we are on hand to provide information and advice and preventative treatments. Gum disease is very common, even though it is preventable; in fact, it is the leading cause of adult tooth loss in the UK. Gum disease is characterised by swollen, painful gums and it is most commonly caused by plaque. Plaque is a sticky film, which develops when bacteria join forces with food debris and saliva; the bacteria in plaque release acids, known as plaque acids, which irritate the gums and cause them to become inflamed and sore. Plaque is also the main cause of tooth decay. In order to prevent gum disease, it’s best to take action to stop plaque from forming and the best way of doing this is to practise good oral hygiene. If you keep your mouth clean, there is a much lower risk of bacteria lingering around long enough to form plaque. We strongly recommend brushing twice a day every day using fluoride toothpaste and flossing on a regular basis to target the gum line and the tiny spaces between the teeth. We also recommend 6 monthly routine check-ups and regular sessions with our excellent dental hygienists. Hygienists are experts in oral hygiene and a regular oral hygiene session can be hugely beneficial for those with signs of gum disease, as well as those with a clean bill of oral health. Hygienists provide powerful cleaning treatments, including scale and polish, and they can achieve a much more thorough clean that you can at home with a toothbrush. If you have any questions about gum disease or you’d like to find out about our oral hygiene services, call now and book an appointment!
We’re delighted to offer our clients an innovative treatment, which straightens the teeth to give you a dream smile in a matter of weeks! The Inman Aligner is an incredibly advanced appliance, which offers comfort, speed and flexibility. The Inman Aligner is a removable aligner, which comprises of a a thin bar which runs across the front of the teeth and springs behind, this creates a push-pull effect which move the teeth quickly and painlessly. These forces squeeze the teeth, pushing and pulling them to align and reposition the teeth and create a beautiful smile. The aligner uses the latest technology to minimise friction and provide patients with maximum comfort. This aligner is not like other aligners on the market, such as Invisalign, as it is not invisible; however, it works much faster, it’s less expensive and it is discreet; the only part that you can see when you smile is the fine metal bar, which sits on the front teeth. This is not a universal treatment, but it does present patients who have minor issues that affect the front teeth with a rapid, comfortable and discreet option. Treatment is usually complete within 16 weeks and by focusing on the front teeth, you can be sure that your smile will look amazing. This treatment is also suitable for patients who have experienced relapse following previous treatment.Aside from the obvious benefit of speed, the Inman Aligner also offers freedom and convenience and added comfort. The aligner is removable, so it has very little effect on your day to day life and gives your greater control of your treatment, and it uses advanced technology to prevent discomfort. As treatment is so quick, fewer appointments are needed and the cost is lower than most other orthodontic treatments.
If you’re searching for a veneer treatment, which guarantees stunning, natural looking results, Lumineers could be just the ticket. These veneers, which are made by Cerinate in the USA, are renowned for creating beautiful, radiant smiles, which retain a very natural look. They are made from patented ceramic material, which is light, yet extremely strong. Although Lumineers are very thin, they are also very durable and they are up to twice as strong as some other types of veneer. Lumineers can be used as a solution to common aesthetic issues, including staining, chips and worn surfaces, and they are also a very popular choice for patients who want that flawless looking smile. Lumineer treatment usually takes between 2 and 3 weeks. Before the veneers are crafted, we will invite you to a consultation and plan your treatment; your new smile will be mapped out and using state of the art techniques, we will create the design for your new smile, which will be sent away to the dental technicians. As Lumineers are so thin, preparation is minimal and in some cases, the veneers can be bonded directly onto the teeth. Usually, with thicker veneers, the tooth surface has to be buffed and trimmed to make room for the veneers, but with Lumineers, this is often not necessary and any work undertaken is much less invasive. Once the veneers are in place and you are happy with your smile, we will give them a quick polish and you’ll be ready to go out and show the world your brand new Lumineers smile. Lumineers are suitable for a wide range of patients and we will determine your suitability during the consultation stage. In most cases, this is a very effective cosmetic solution, which is capable of transforming the look of the smile, as well as your confidence.
Years of frowning, pulling faces and making expressions can take their toll on the appearance of your skin and if you’ve noticed lines and wrinkles appearing around your mouth, forehead or eyes, we are here to turn your frown upside down and give your complexion a youthful glow. With our non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments, we can make you look and feel 10 years younger in less than half an hour! Botox is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments on the market and it can make a real difference to the appearance of the skin. This treatment is predominantly used to tackle wrinkles and lines and it is a popular means of reducing the visibility of crow’s feet and frown lines; it works by reducing muscle contraction in the facial muscles by blocking nerve signals. One of the best things about Botox is that it is a really convenient treatment; when you hear people talking about it being a lunch-break cure for ageing, this really could be true. The treatment sessions last just 15-30 minutes and you can get back to work or whatever else the day holds for you straight away without having to worry about taking time out to recover or thinking about going out in public with a swollen face. With Botox, you simply have a series of injections and then you’re free to go, with no unpleasant side-effects to deal with. Before we carry out Botox treatment, we have a consultation with you to talk through the process, explain what happens and how the treatment works and check that you are a suitable candidate for treatment and you understand what treatment entails. We will discuss with you the areas you want to treat and then book your session. When you have treatment, we simply inject Botox into your skin using a very fine needle; this isn’t painful, but we understand that some patients are a little apprehensive about needles and we can apply a mild anaesthetic. The results of treatment usually last up to 6 months and you can then choose to have more treatment sessions in the future. If you feel like the signs of ageing are catching up with you or you’d like to look a little younger without the risks or long-term implications of surgery, why not give Botox a try?
The natural ageing process usually takes its toll on the skin before any other part of the body and lines and wrinkles can make us look and feel older. It’s not possible to avoid ageing, but we are able to offer treatments, which roll back the years and give your complexion a new lease of life. With our non-surgical facial aesthetic treatments, you can enjoy greater confidence, as well as radiant, youthful skin. We offer Botox and dermal filler treatment to smooth lines and folds, refresh and revive dull skin and give the skin enhanced volume and definition. Botox is a very popular treatment for tackling facial wrinkles and treatment works by blocking nerve signals to the facial muscles. The procedure is very simple and it usually takes around 20 minutes, so it is very easy to schedule. There is no down time required and the results are only temporary, which makes the prospect of having treatment less daunting than cosmetic surgery, which is a much greater commitment with more serious risks attached. Dermal fillers are also very effective for the treatment of facial lines and they can also be used to enhance your natural beauty by adding definition to your facial features. As we age, the skin can start to lose volume and plumpness due to a loss of collagen and elastin and we can use fillers to combat sagging and sunken skin and make you look healthier and younger. We can also use fillers to plump up the lips for a more enviable pout. The procedure is very similar to that of Botox; a fine needle is used to gently inject the filler into the targeted areas of skin and after this, treatment is complete. The results usually last around 3-6 months for Botox and 6-9 months for fillers and both treatments can be repeated on a frequent basis to top up the results.
