Modern dentistry is advancing and evolving all the time and we are always eager to learn about new treatments and invest in innovative technology, in order to ensure our clients can enjoy the best possible results. We are very proud to offer Cerec same-day restorative treatment, which enables us to provide high quality treatment, on-site, in a single day. Cerec technology vastly reduces treatment times for patients who need restorative work, such as a new crown. With this amazing technology we can design, make and fit new restorations in just one session, rather than it taking 2-3 weeks. Cerec technology uses state of the art software to convert camera images into 3D models, which are sent to the on-site milling machine, then this machine fabricates the new restoration in a matter of minutes. We can then fit the new restoration and treatment is complete in a fraction of the time of traditional techniques. We can use Cerec to create same-day bespoke veneers, crowns, inlays and onlays and it offers us, as well as our clients, a host of benefits. Treatment times are reduced dramatically, everything can be done at the clinic and there is no need for temporary restorations. Patients can also enjoy a cleaner, more accurate and less intrusive treatment process and they can start enjoying the benefits of treatment much sooner. With Cerec, we don’t need to use putty to create impressions and this increases accuracy, as well as preventing patients from feeling uncomfortable, as this process can be a little unpleasant, especially for patients who suffer with a sensitive gag reflex. If you need restorative treatment in a hurry, or you’re interested in finding out about the latest dental technology, don’t hesitate to get in touch, as our friendly dentists will be happy to help!

At Advance Dental, we are always on the lookout for fast and effective treatments, which provide our clients with beautiful, healthy smiles. We are very proud to offer Cerec same-day restorative treatment in the heart of Essex. Cerec technology is an advanced form of treatment, which gives us the option to restore teeth in a single session. With Cerec, there is no need to create putty impressions, send them away and wait for a new restoration to be fabricated by a dental technician; this technology allows us to complete the entire treatment process on-site in no time at all. Before treatment begins, we take photographs of the tooth, which are then converted into incredibly detailed 3D templates by Cerec software; these templates are then sent to the milling machine, which is responsible for creating the new bespoke restoration. The manufacturing process is very quick and once the restoration is ready, it can then be fitted. There are many advantages of having Cerec on site; treatment times are much shorter than traditional treatment, which tends to take up to 2 weeks and involves 2-3 appointments, patients can enjoy immediate results and there is no need to fit temporary restorations. Patients can enjoy the results of treatment without having to worry about booking time off work or making childcare arrangements for multiple appointments and we don’t have to use dental putty to make impressions of the teeth, which some patients find unpleasant and uncomfortable. The process is also more accurate and the technology is versatile; with Cerec, we can create a range of restorations, including veneers, inlays and onlays and crowns. If you would like to find out more about Cerec or any other forms of dental technology we offer at the practice, don’t hesitate to give us a call.

Cerec stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics and it is an advanced and hugely impressive form of technology, which enables us to offer same-day restorative treatment.
Cerec covers all the stages of restorative treatment, enabling us to complete the entire process on-site. Usually, we would create an impression, which is sent away to a laboratory and then returned to use for fitting around 2 weeks later. Now, with Cerec, there’s no waiting around and we can design, fabricate and fit the new restoration in just one session.
How does Cerec work?
Cerec converts images from a camera into 3D models, which replace impressions; the models form the design of the bespoke restoration and they are sent to the milling machine. The milling machine is responsible for the manufacturing stage and it takes just a few minutes to convert the 3D models into a brand new, sparkling restoration. Once the restoration is ready, we then fit it and you can enjoy your new smile.
We are able to use Cerec to create custom-designed veneers, crowns, inlays and onlays.
The benefits of Cerec
The most obvious advantage of Cerec is its time-saving abilities; however, there are additional pros of this system. With Cerec, you don’t have to go through the messy and somewhat uncomfortable stage of having putty moulds created and you also don’t need to have temporary restorations. You can book a single session rather than having to take time off work on multiple days and you can also gain more insight into the treatment process, as you can see how the different stages work. Cerec is also more accurate than traditional techniques.
