What is CEREC?

CEREC technology enables us to design, manufacture and fit new crowns, veneers, inlays and onlays in a single day. The best thing is that we don’t even have to leave the building. We can do everything on-site, bringing you rapid, reliable results.

CEREC takes care of every stage of the process of replacing an old restoration or a fitting a new one. With this technology, we take photographs of the teeth, which are turned into 3D models and then sent to the on-site milling machine. In minutes, your new crown or inlay will be ready for us to fit. The process is accurate, fast, and hassle-free.

The benefits of CEREC

CEREC offers an alternative to traditional restorative treatment, which usually takes up to 3 weeks. If you take a crown, for example, we would usually use dental putty to create an impression, which would be sent away to a laboratory. The new crown would be fabricated by a dental technician and then sent back to us. We would then schedule another appointment to fit the crown. With CEREC, there’s no need to create moulds or send them away, and the process takes one day rather than 2 weeks.

CEREC isn’t just a speedy alternative to traditional treatment. It’s also cleaner and more precise. Many patients also feel more comfortable with this technique, as your dentist won’t have to make a putty mould. If you have a sensitive gag reflex, this can be an unpleasant process.
